What Is ChatBot?

ChatBot is a conversational computer-programmed software that simulates human conversation and helps power up your customer's services in an effective and friendly way.

You probably interconnect with the chatbot even if you don’t have an idea about the chatbot or not. Like if you're using your computer, or mobile phone searching for a product, and a message pops up on your screen asking for help.

Another thing is if you have ordered something and receive a message or call to know your order cost and that your order is ready...

and its cost is $$$, or when you are at the office and using your smartphone to call a ride via chat. These are all examples of coming into contact with the chatbot.

Chatbot helps Business-to-business (B2B) or Business-to-customer (B2C) to handle their tasks easily.

How Do ChatBots Work?

Chatbot operated by AI using Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Machine Learning (ML).

When you ask the chatbot for something, it begins to process your request based on the information you have provided and then answers your question.

Your additional information is not directed to the standard chatbot to respond to. But with time the chatbot algorithm enables the resolution of more complex queries.

Companies do chatbots in addition to a services or sales department with low or even zero coding. But the important thing in implementing a chatbot is to choose the right (NLP) engine. For example, if the user interacts with text input then the chatbot must implemented with text engine.  

Types of ChatBot

There are two types of chatbot

Task-Oriented (Declarative)

This type of chatbot processes one single function using rules, NLP, and ML. It follows the automated structure.

The task-oriented replies to a limited number of questions with pre-written answers.

But is conversational to the user's inquiries because of NLP.

Task-oriented handles simple tasks, FAQs like business opening hours, etc, without involving other variables.  

Data Drive and Predictive (Conversational)

The data-driven chatbot is a digital assistant that is fully interactive, structured, and personalized rather than task-oriented.

These types of chatbots have great knowledge of contextual text, and voice because they learned Natural Language Understanding (NLU), Natural Processing Language (NLP), and Machine Learning (ML).

Look Data Driven Chatbot predicts intelligence and analytics to enable personalization based on users' profiles and past behavior. With time digital assistants know about humans, their preferences, recommendations, and more. Apple’s Sri and Amazon’s Alexa are examples of Data Drive, consumer-oriented and Predictive chatbots.

Chatbot helps businesses interact with their customers automatically. Users get the information easily and quickly just by requesting to chatbot through text, or voice, without human interference or manual research.

Now you can find chatbots everywhere like on your smartphones, smart speakers, WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, and other applications like Slack.

Using chatbots companies, organizations, and businesses increase their sales efficiently without wasting your time and allowing you to do your other work.

Chatbot reduces the customer time and available 24/7.

A chatbot is cost-effective, easy, fast, and cheaper only one time investment is required to create an app and reduce human error.

Challenges of Using ChatBot

Users may face security issues using a chatbot to share their data. Organizations must ensure chatbots are developed with 100% secure and relevant data to protect them from hackers.

Unpredictable Human Behavior.  

Human behaviors randomly change, so emotions and moods often control user behavior. So, chatbots must adopt these moods of behavior.
